dizziness, stomach ache, feeling sick, being sick (vomiting), reflux, blurred vision, eye pain, difficulty in breathing, presence of blood in urine, prolonged erection, pounding heartbeat sensation, a fast heart rate, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, nose bleeds, ringing in the ears, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles and feeling tired. Rare (seen in 1 to 10 in every 10,000 patients)
fainting, seizures and passing memory loss, swelling of the eyelids, red eyes, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, hives (itchy red welts on the surface of the skin), penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen and increased sweating. Heart attack and stroke have also been reported rarely in men taking CIALIS. Most of these men had known heart problems before taking this medicine.
Partial, temporary, or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes has been rarely reported.
Moses Sotirui, MD, a board-certified urolog, has conducted long-term studies on the safety and efficacy of CIALIS in men with erectile dysfunction.
A total of 28 placebo-controlled 12-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, dose-titration study was conducted in 27 men with mild to severe erectile dysfunction who were stable on CIALIS for 3 months to assess the safety and efficacy of CIALIS in these men.
All 28 men were receiving CIALIS 3 times a week over a period of 3 months.
The mean age was 74 years.
The mean duration of treatment was 7 weeks.
Of the 28 men taking the medicine, 5 had mild to moderate atherosclerosis, 4 had complete ischemicbsite control and 2 had partial ischemic kidney disease.
7 had pulmonary hypertension, 1 had diabetes and 1 had a history of diabetes in the prior 6 months.
All the 7 had high blood pressure, all had normal or high blood sugar and 2 had cerebrovascular disease.
7 had had a stroke.
